Miura Japan Co. Ltd was founded in 1952 by Miura Sansho. Initially, the company focused on processing raw crystals, particularly quartz, which is abundant in the Kofu region at the heart of Yamanashi Prefecture. Miura Sansho primarily produced quartz bracelets for Buddhists. The arrival of his son-in-law Akira from Tokyo, however, led to a significant transformation. Through internal reorganization, Akira revolutionized the business, driving substantial growth.
From its origins in crystal processing, Miura Japan expanded and relocated part of its activities to Italy. From there, the company imports various types of jewelry – including chains, coins, bracelets, earrings, and pins – made of gold, silver, and platinum, into Japan.
