Miura Japan has evolved from its origins in crystal processing, expanding its activities to Italy. From there, the company imports jewelry – chains, coins, bracelets, earrings, and brooches – in gold, silver and platinum to Japan into Japan.

Consider a lioness chasing a young gazelle—our hearts go out to the terrified prey. But when we see the same lioness bringing meat to her offspring, we understand the deeper, often harsh, realities of nature. At Miura Japan, we have chosen to honor this instinctual and eternal love between mother and child through our coin collection.
In the 1990s, with the growing trend of wearing and collecting 24-karat gold coins as jewelry, Akira and his son Yuki saw an opportunity in this niche market that Miura Japan had yet to explore. Riding the wave of this trend, a new coin has been released every year since 1994 as part of the “Mother’s Love Coin” collection. One side features the head of Queen Elizabeth II, now King Charles, while the other side displays an endangered animal mother with her offspring.
Lady Diana Memorial Medal
Even today, 27 years later, the world remembers the tragic death of Lady Diana on 31 August 1997. Elton John, one of Diana’s close friends, rewrote the lyrics to “Candle in the Wind”—originally dedicated to Marilyn Monroe—and performed “Goodbye England’s Rose” at her funeral, moving both attendees and millions watching the global broadcast.
In her honor, Miura Japan created a commemorative medal in 999.9/1,000 silver, produced by The British Royal Mint with permission from the royal family. The design, crafted by artist Robert Elderton, features Princess Diana’s profile on one side and a rose on the other.
In 1994, with the approval of the Cook Islands government, we began producing 24-karat gold coins for use in jewelry. These coins feature Queen Elizabeth II’s profile on one side and a mother and child from an endangered animal species on the other. This series, called the “Mother’s Love Coin,” changes its featured animals each year, including penguins, dolphins, polar bears, and whales. The coins are minted by The British Royal Mint, the oldest mint in the world.
